Psalm 103 (NIV)
1 Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. 2 Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
Don’t just praise God with your mouth, your words or even just with your body. Praise Him with your soul. With ALL that is inside of you!

2 Chronicles 1 (NIV) - Solomon Asks for Wisdom
7 That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”
8 Solomon answered God, “You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place. 9 Now, LORD God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. 10 Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 19:16-20 (NIV)
The Rich and the Kingdom of God
16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” 17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
Other sources including the gospel of Mark show us that the young ruler “ran” for Christ because He was already gone from the house and on the road leading out of the city.
He was a ruler, not of the synagogue but more significant. He might have even been a member of the local Sanhedrin. A high level local politician.
