2 Kings 4 (NIV)
Life Happens to Everyone
Just because negative things happen to you does not mean that you are out of favor with God
2 Kings 4 (NIV)
2 Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?”
“Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.”
Elisha was a powerful man of God who could seemingly do just about anything
I’m sure he had money too
But he was looking for something in the woman’s possession which could be multiplied
God wants to multiply what you have too!
“except a small jar of olive oil.” (2 Kings 4:2b NIV)
Hello?!! A jar of oil belonging to a prophet?
That represents the anointing of God!
That is the best inheritance he could have possibly left for his family!
Someday my parents will die and my brother and I will receive an inheritance
It’s the anointing, the Levitical calling, the Godly heritage that I cherish!
2 Kings 4 (NIV)
3 Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. 4 Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”
5 She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring.
To multiply, you must have empty containers...
Many of them! Don’t be shy!
What would you tell the neighbors?
A miracle is about to happen! God is about to do something really great! Do you want to be a part of it???
2 Kings 4 (NIV)
6 When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”
But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.
The oil stopped flowing when all the emptiness was filled
Do you want God’s power to pour in this Church?
You gotta bring new vessels!!!
But don’t settle for just the new ones getting filled
Pour yourself out to get filled again every Sunday!
2 Kings 4 (NIV)
7 She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”
Provision comes when we accomplish our Kingdom Mission
Matthew 6:33 (NIV) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
